William retired from the Army as a Captain of Infantry on 29 June 1948 after 28 years, 4 months of service. Discharged from the Army, as a First Lieutenant, from the USAR, on 1 April 1953.

Obituary

Obituary: Edith J. O'Connor - Pueblo Chieftain - May 25, 1987 - Edith J. O'Connor, late of 1017 E. Sixth, passed away May 23, 1987. Mrs. O'Connor was a member of the Belmont Church of the Nazarene and the SRDA. She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. O'Connor, in 1971. Survivors include one daughter, Betty (Walter) Ketchum of Pueblo; two brothers, Jim Mathews of Pueblo and Fred Mathews of Arkansas; one grandson, Jerry Ketchum of Tacoma, Wash.; one granddaughter, Kathy McIntosh of Colorado Springs; six great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Adrian Comer Garden Chapel, with the Rev. Don Nelson of the Belmont Church of the Nazarene officiating. Interment will be at Imperial Memorial Gardens. The family may be contacted at 623 W. 12th.
